My Heart Belongs to You!

Here is a card for the Pals Paper Arts challenge # 30 KISS (Keep it Simple, Sweetie)

If you break it down, this card really is simple. It is just the one background stamp, the sentiment is also stamped right on the cardbase, the heart is just stamped twice and cut out, Then I have added just strips to give it an 'embossed' look.

There is also glitter on the heart, but you can't really see it in the pic...

Super Simple Monday

Ok, seeing as I really didn't have much time the past week to sit at my desk and create anything (besides my hubbys card) I will post one I did a few weeks ago. You can substitute any color combo and it would work just as well. Just use a lighter and a darker version of the same basic color.
For example, here I used Pretty in Pink and Rose Red. I also used the same stamp set, Simply Said, except for the smaller heart, which came from the Love You Much set.
What really gave this card a cutesy feel was using the corner rounder punch. It can really make a difference in the feel of your card.

You can also substitute any embellishment for the hearts...buttons, a large flower, a scalloped circle with a cute image in the center...whatever you like!

So once you have your supplies ready, I would say this card would take you about 5 minutes to put together, maybe 7 if you have to cut the hearts out by hand.

Happy Birthday, Honey!

It's my hubby's birthday, so I needed to make him a card. We have a running joke between us that he likes to be the one to have the remote if we are watching TV together.

So I thought I would make a card befitting him!

The best part was, it just so happens this weeks challenge over at Stampin' Royalty is masculine cards! I have to admit that cards for guys are the most difficult for me. I'm glad they did this challenge because seeing what other people come up with will help me get some ideas/inspiration!

It was really tough coming up with this one too. I do have to say though, that the colors of the main portion of the card did not translate well in the picture. I was using a combination of natural light from my window and a lamp, but because it was really overcast yesterday, the lighting was not the best for taking a picture.

Anyway, here's his card!

The Rest!

Ok, here's the rest of the valentines I have to post!

Can I Bug You?

Ok! Here is a card that would work well for a guy. Not too frou-frou.

I'm going to go ahead and post this for the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #6!
It's a Love/Valentines theme!

I'm still giddy over getting picked for my last entry! I do love doing these challenges! The entries people have posted for this challenge so far are SO CUTE! Check 'em out!

I will be posting more Valentines cards in a minute, so I don't end up having a bunch of unposted cards after Valentines Day!

Check back in a few!

Two Hearts are Better Than One!

I woke up this morning to some fabulous news! I can hardly contain my excitement!! My entry was chosen as a Goddess Pick for this last weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty!!!! See? I'm glad no one witnessed my happy dance when I found out, cause it would have been embarrassing!
If you've never played one of those challenges, you should! They are lots of fun, and it is wonderful to see the beautiful creations people submit!

Here is another fairly easy card. We did this one at my last class too. It uses the polka dot embossing folder from the Occasions Mini, and also the little heart embossing die and heart punch. This would make a great valentines or anniversary card. It's made with Very Vanilla cardstock, but if you changed the cardbase or added patterned paper and different colored cardstock for the hearts, it would work just as well!

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the clear mount stamps!?! I do, I do!

On a side note, though, I do have to mention how sad I am to hear the news this morning about Captain Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie, who passed away yesterday. So sad. He was my favorite on Deadliest Catch. Seemed like a good guy. My heart and prayers go out to all those who loved him.

Very Valentine

This card just screams Valentine, doesn't it?

I stamped the big heart on Real Red, then cut it out, colored the little flowers with a white gel pen, inked the edges to give it shading, then added glitter here and there.

Again I have used my favorite little technique of trimming around the sentiment.
More Valentines cards to come!

Super Simple Monday

I've seen a few cards with the 'hearts on the tree' idea, and I just thought it was adorable, and I had to do a card myself!
This was actually one of the cards we did at my most recent class. The gals loved it! Easy enough for a beginner, but overall cuteness factor enough for everyone! I did have a beginner in my class, too, so I'm glad It wasn't too difficult.

In fact, once you have all your supplies ready and you know where you are going with the card, this one can practically put itself together in 5 minutes or less!

Like-O-Meter

It's a l
I gotta tell ya, when I saw this stamp in the Mini catalog, I laughed for several minutes. I just had to have it!

So here is a card I made with the stamp, I filled in the thermometer with red glitter and went over it with Crystal Effects to make it look more liquidy. (is that a word?)
I also did that for the little hearts bursting out the top.
Pretty easy card to put together, but it took me forever to come up with a layout!

It's a lot cuter in person. My camera seems to have issues (not the user, naturally!)
I do like the way it turned out though!
Have a lovely weekend!

A Scrapbook Page!

Something a little different today! I have been meaning to do some scrappin' latley, and hopefully this will get me going!

I had seen other animals made from punches, and I really wanted something that was Pooh themed, so I made my own Pooh Bear from punches! I used the picture as a guide.
There is a background stamped on the main piece, but it's hard to see it from the picture.

I am entering this project into the Stampin' Royalty challenge #5 ....hope they like it!

Groundhog Day

Here's another easy one to put together.

I have to replenish my birthday cards stash still. The ones I made recently are almost gone again!

Super Simple Monday

I finally took some pictures of my recent cards! Yay! I will have more in the next few days!

This one is admittedly 'thrown' together. I know it looks a little primitive, but i think it kind of works.
I was able to use scraps again (hooray!) for this one too! I had this dragonfly floating around my scrap pile for YEARS and I decided I would finally give him a purpose.
It really is just a generic note card, but I guess the point is that if you are in a hurry, use a couple strips of paper, plop them on a coordinating cardbase, add a little layered embellishment for a focal point, and voila! Oh, and a little bling never hurts!
