Tiptoe Through the Tulips

This week at Stampin' Royalty we are giving you a Color Challenge!
here are the colors:

What i love about these colors are that they can basically be used throughout all 4 seasons!
normally, i would go straight to a Christmas card with this one, but i challenged myself to make something a little out of my norm.  So i grabbed one of my NEW STAMPS, Love is Kindness  :)
I used Petite Pairs for the sentiment and the woodgrain background stamp for the cardbase.

I basically just used my inks and my blender pen to color the image, matted each of the panels on Early Espresso cardstock, and tied the main image with White Bakers Twine.  Super easy and quick!
You can switch out the sentiment with several others, and it would work just as well!

Supplies -
Stamps - Love is Kindness, Petite Pairs, Woodgrain Background
Ink/Cardstock - Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Accessories - White Bakers Twine, Blender Pen, Artisan Label Punch

Yep, It really is ONE LAYER! Wood You Be Mine

The Stampin' Royalty Challenge this week is One Layer Cards,  and believe it or not, this IS one layer!

How did i do it, you ask? I'll be glad to tell you!

But before I do, can i just say how doggone CUTE this stamp set is?? It is from the Wood You Be Mine set that will be in the upcoming Occasions Catalog, and it is adorable! that pleasant lumberjack will be stealing many hearts :)

So now on to my techniques for the card....
I started out by stamping the sentiment in Early Espresso on Naturals White Cardstock, then stamped ol' Jack right above those words, then i made a 'mask' to place over Jack and the words so i dont stamp over them.  to make the mask, i just measured the area i wanted to cover, then cut a piece of very thin copy paper in a rectangle large enough and used my Tombo glue to put a thin coating on the back (then let it dry so it is tacky) and placed it over the image.

I inked up my Woodgrain background stamp in Baked Brown Sugar and stamped over the mask and the whole card, creating a sort of frame
.
I then used my Baked Brown Sugar Stampin' Write Marker and a ruler and drew lines over the edge of the stamped part to make it look clean and divided. I then created lines the same way surrounding the wording to make it look like another layer.
I colored Jack a little bit using my blender pens, then to finish it off, i actually DREW on what LOOKS like brads or Candy Dots....I used my older style Paper Piercing mat with the different size circles to draw dots on the paper with my Baked Brown Sugar marker, then I used a bead of my Crystal Effects over each circle and let it dry to create a faux brad/candy dot...

I like it  {:oD

Supplies:

Cardstock - Naturals White
Ink- Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy,
Stamps - Wood You Be Mine?, Woodgrain Background Stamp
Accessories - Crystal Effects, Blender Pen

Picture Perfect in Purple

Stampin' Royalty has a Picture Inspiration this week!
My sample card is above, the inspiration below :o)

I was really drawn to the tablecloth in the image. the whole table setting is really striking and i wanted to re-create the feel of it on a card. I was originally trying to come up with a unique Wisteria Wonder Christmas card, but ended up going for Birthday instead...

The flowers in the background are stamped in White Craft Ink, and the Dots along the bottom are stamped in Basic Gray. The rest speaks for itself!

Whimsical Winter

Things are getting colorful at Stampin' Royalty this week!

It's a Color Challenge!
It took me a while to finally come up with a final design for this card, but i love the way it turned out and it's basic simplicity. I think i am going to make many more of these!

Besides the handmade holly leaves and the striped tree, the rest explains itself, i believe..
For the tree, i just glued on very thin strips of Real Red to the White punched tree and trimmed the edges.  I used a circle punch to make the holly leaves.  you just punch around, kind of overlapping, until you get the holly leaf shape.

Thankful...

We are being Thankful at Stampin' Royalty this week!

I used the Seasonally Scattered stamp and my markers to make the main image. The nice thing about the large image stamps, is that it basically fills the card for you! just add a little element here and there and your design basically makes itself!

I used my Silhouette e-cutter to make the leaves, and i used Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, and the retired More Mustard.  The background paper is (retired) Really Rust. I have been seeing how i can incorporate my old supplies in with my new so that i can put them to good use, and so it will give me an excuse to get some more NEW goodies!

Supplies:

cardstock - Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Always Artichoke
Stamps - Seasonally Scattered
Accessories - misc. Stampin' Write markers, Gold Ribbon, (retired) Really Rust patterned paper

Silver Linings

This weeks theme at Stampin' Royalty is to use SILVER in your project!
So i did just that!  I made a whole Christmas Card box all by my little self!

Here is another view:

For this one, i started with a Whisper White 8 1/2 x 11 and stamped the whole thing with my snowflakes in Pear Pizzazz and Lost Lagoon. I then created the box with that sheet of cardstock and a plain white for the bottom.
I created the main panel separately so that i could wrap the ribbon around it. After cutting, embossing and paper piercing the different elements, i stuck them all on there, and finished if off with a 3-D tree made with 6 of the tree punches, then folded in half, then glued together to create a fan style tree. I wrapped silver ribbon around it to represent garland (so cute!) and stuck in on the main panel. Every tree has to have a topper, so i added a Silver Glimmer star and my favorite little button!   A few Silver Dazzling Details dots (say that 10 times fast!) and my Christmas Card Box is ready to be filled with coordinating cards! and there's plenty of room for envelopes, a pen, maybe some stamps? :)
I must say i am pleased with the outcome!

Supplies:
cardstock - Pool Party, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Lost Lagoon
Stamps - Endless Wishes
accessories - Silver Glimmer Paper, Nordic Designer Buttons. Tree Punch, Silver Ribbon, Lucky Stars and Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Labels Collection Framelits Dies, Silver Dazzling Details

Sketch Art

Stampin' Royalty's challenge this week is a Sketch Challenge!

Sketch challenges are always the easiest projects to do. this one came together pretty quick.I knew what i wanted to do before i got started, but built the colors around the patterned paper (which was a scrap, by the way!)
and there isn't even much on here that needs explaining. just embossing, and stamping, and punching out, and layering! i think i will make a bunch of these!

Cardstock & Ink - Cherry Cobbler, Crisp Cantaloupe

Love is a Verb

It's Anything Goes at Stampin Royalty this week!

i needed a love themed card and thought this would be a good opportunity to make one!
The background panel was made with Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape, applied in diagonal stripes. i really thought it turned out cute. The banner was made with the Owl Builder Punch, the large eye part and the heart.
The main panel was done with Gold Embossing Powder, cut out with a Die, and then i sponged some color in the letters, then filled them in with Crystal Effects.
I used Pink Pirouette and Strawberry Slush for the cardstock and ink

Picturesque Fall

The theme at Stampin' Royalty this week is a Picture Inspiration!

Ah, Fall...the colors....THE COLORS!! love fall colors and when i saw these images, i squealed! I want both of those decorations in front of my house, and it goes without saying that i also want that cake! ;o)

This card was made with the Lovely as a Tree set, which if you know anything about Stampin' Up stamps, you know that this set has been around FOREVER, and to be honest, i hope it STAYS around! i really like it, and it is very timeless.

I basically just made circles out of different patterns, textures, and finishes and placed them on the card in a design, and stamped the leaves in Early Espresso, then colored the leaves using my blender pen. and of course, i cut them out and put them on the card.
the main sentiment panel and mat for the card are both made with the Gold shimmery paper, but it is hard to tell in the pic. added a button, and voila!

Supplies:

Stamps - Lovely as a Tree, Seasonal Sentiments (ret.)
Ink - Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Staz-on Black
Cardstock - Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Gold,
Accessories - Champagne Glimmer Paper, Houndstooth Embossing Folder, Trim the Tree DSP Stack, Circle Punches, Antique Brads

Sketched Out

This weeks Challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a Sketch Challenge!
Here is the sketch:

This card was actually made with very few supplies, which is something i have been challenging myself to do lately.

It's pretty self-explanatory except i should mention the patterned polka dot paper on the middle strip was actually from the bottom portion of the main image stamp, just cut into pieces and placed at the top and the bottom.

Supplies:

Cardstock - Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar
Stamps - Amazing Birthday
Ink - Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush
Accessories - Gold Ribbon, Gold Glimmer Paper, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Circle punch

Pop Goes the Color!

I was so excited that the theme at Stampin' Royalty this weeks was Black and White with a Pop of Color!
I happen to adore black and white, and how much better to add a little surprise of color!

For this one it is important to note that i stamped the sentiment BEFORE running the main panel through the embossing folder/Big Shot. otherwise you might get a smudged or unclear image.

I had gotten my order a few days ago with my new Stampin' goodies, and was super happy to be able to use them on this card :o)
again, this one is easily put together, and i like the way it turned out!

Supplies:

Cardstock - Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink - Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps - Festival of Trees, Endless Wishes
Accessories - Silver Ribbon, Tree Punch, Silver Glimmer Paper, Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Pearl Basic Jewels

Stampin' Up Product Share!

Hello, blog friends :o)
Anyone want to do a Stampin' Up Product Share??

I am considering doing a PRODUCT SHARE for some current Stampin' Up Accessories from both the main catalog and the Holiday Catalog, such as either Ribbon or Designer Series Papers.
if i get enough people interested, i will do one!
SO! I am hoping you will be interested!

If this is something you think you would want to participate in, let me know in the comments, and if i have enough people interested, i will post more details of which products, etc.
This would only be available to people in the continental United States, sorry for those outside :o(

Reading Letters

This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is to use LETTERS!

Most everything i used for this card is retired except the cardstock, but i have been trying to tell myself to use more of my retired stuff, so that i have room to buy new stuff, of course!

dig through your stash and find some older stuff that needs to shine anew!

Glistening Evergreen

The theme this week at Stampin' Royalty is to use GLITTER!!
oh, how i love sparkly things! I was super excited to do this challenge!

When i made the card above, I was actually inspired by this GORGEOUS card made by my friend
and fellow Stampin' Royalty Goddess, Carrie Rhoades! (visit her blog here)

This card was very easy to put together and took hardly any time at all! I used a tried and true stamp set, Lovely as a Tree, and stamped in White Craft Ink first on Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, then added Heat and Stick powder, then after heating it just to melting point, added some silver glitter and heated again to set. I did have to brush off some of the glitter afterwards because it kind of clumped, and as a side note, if your glitter is sticking due to static to the paper where you didn't want it to, you can use a dryer sheet to kind of wipe it off after the image has set and it helps a bunch!

The cardbase is very simple, just using a strip of Early Espresso patterned paper across the middle with a Baked Brown Sugar strip underneath, and the image panel popped up on top of that. I used my paper piercer and template to poke the little holes around the main image panel, then stamped the sentiment from the Holiday Invitation set on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla and popped that across the main image. I then cut out two holly leaves and used the sprinkles from the Cupcake Builder punch to make a holly sprig and added that to finish off the card.

Easy to do and looks great!

Supplies:

Ink - Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock - Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Stamps - Lovely as a Tree, Holiday Invitations
Accessories - Silver Glitter, Heat and Stick Powder, Paper Piercer, Apothecary Accents Die, Essentials Paper Piercing Template, Cupcake Builder Punch, Neutrals Patterned Paper

I Got a Good CASE of Loving You!

The challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty is Stamped Backgrounds...so of course i had to take my love of Polka Dots and use them for my background :o)
This was also made for ANOTHER challenge that i am a part of, where i had to find a card from the current Stampin' Up Catalog and CASE it as closely as possible, but to change just a few things.
I loved the baby card on page 80, so i used that one. i know, you are all running to get your catalogs out now so you can see the original...haha.

I used the middle portion of one of the stamps from Daydream Medallions to create the polka dots on a panel that i would adhere to my cardbase, and had stamped using White Craft Ink.  The rest kind of explains itself, just bits and pieces put together to make a cute little birthday card that is very easy to create!

Christmas Cheer in the Lost Lagoon

This weeks Challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a Sketch Challenge!

I find that sketch challenges are the easiest :o)
I was able to put this card together fairly quickly once i knew which materials i wanted to use.
The colors are Lost Lagoon, and Soft Sky. I am using a sneek peek new paper from the upcoming Stampin Up Holiday Catalog, which, by the way, makes me want EVERYTHING in it!  I did use a retired stamp and die set to create the snowflake, but snowflakes never go out of style, right?  When i look at this card, it kind of reminds me of snow falling in the hills....
be sure to make something using the sketch and play along with us over at Stampin' Royalty!!

Stampin' Up Convention 2014

I had SOOOO much fun at the Stampin' Up Convention this year! My fellow Stampin' Royalty Goddess, Carrie Rhoades, and I, took on Convention 2014, and had a Rockin' good time!
She and I and another fellow demonstrator shared a room for the weekend, and Carrie left us these amazing and super awesome gifts filled with all kinds of goodies each evening! they were little surprises left on our pillow!  aren't they just super cute!! She makes such fantastic things!

and just a quick note about convention itself, i just have to say, it is jam pack-filled with things to do and see and experience! you end each night with a head full of ideas, even though you might be a bit exhausted when it is all over...I basically wish there was another one next month!

Here are a few pictures from my adventures:

 During one of the classes...

Sparkle and Shine

The theme this week at Stampin' Royalty is a Picture Inspiration Challenge...
(see picture above)  :o)
after embossing the sparkles on the background piece, I just used some scrap strips adhered slightly askew for added interest to create a backdrop for the main sentiment cluster. the banner is also embossed in gold. I added a few sequins for some more shine, then added the sentiment on top of it all.  Pretty easy, but trendy and cute!

Cardstock - Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White.

Anchors Away!

The theme this week at Stampin' Royalty is Keeping it Simple!

I have kept this card pretty simple, even though there seems to be a lot going on...
I used a few different inks to make a sponged strip down the side of the cardbase, then used my Night of Navy marker and a Ruler to outline it, then i stamped the ship image and cut it out, then stamped on a strip that i made into a banner, glued a half circle to one end, put in a brad, then stamped the anchor off to the side to finish it off!
I really like the way it turned out and ill probably make more!
